So, I was going to write this huge, long story about how I first heard Rage Against The Machine in high school, right after they played second stage at the still virtually unheard of Lollapalooza.
Then I got a bunch of shit from Vinnie Baggadonuts for how long my Air review was last month.
So, here's the deal: I got the new Rage Against The Machine CD/DVD set, Live At The Grand Olympic Auditorium. It documents their last two shows ever, filmed on September 12th and 13th in Los Angeles. If you don't like Rage Against The Machine, you're not reading this anyway. But if you did like them, pick these two fuckers up. It's the end of what was a great band that I never got to see live. Fuckers. But, hey, I caught Audioslave. So, close enough, right? WRONG!
Both the CD and DVD are worth the cost. Seek them out now. And during the performance, keep an eye open for Rick Rubin on stage. I swear, if that dude weren't into music, he'd be a serial killer.
